Weekends Are for Resting
Saturdays and Sundays are good for resting, clearing the mind of excess worries, and gearing up the what the week brings. That sounds a little like weekends when I has teaching, except for the hours of essay-paper grading. John often wonders what our lives would have been like if we had gotten this diagnosis about two years ago while we were still teaching and living in Germany. If there is an upside to this, I am glad it happened here in the U.S., and I am glad I got to see my new granddaughter, enjoy her and Tyler, before the diagnosis. Of course, that starts a lot of "what if" existentential questions, and I want to look at this a little more directly.

May the vista of mountains be a comfort & reminder of HIS watch-care over you at this time & in this place. Perhaps that is why your journey has led you to find residence in the foothills of the mountains, that you might find strength, hope, and reassurance for such a time as this.

Psalm 121
I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
2My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
3He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
5The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade on your right hand.
6The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7The LORD will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
8The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.
Dear Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteI think all of what you said really makes sense. Being in the States is much better, but I just wish everyone lived nearby. I am very glad that you and John can put all of your thoughts and effort into your treatment. Teaching school can make that difficult.
I know that tomorrow is a big day. I am wondering about your chemo experience - there are so many different kinds of schedules now.
I am glad when I look and there is a note from you.
Love,
Ann and the rest of the Frazes
We Are Praying and thinking about you guys
ReplyDeleteJohn and Marilyn,keep up the positive attitudes. Weatherwise, we seem to be on the same page. Our tulips are peaking through remnants of snow.
